Raising awareness about the situation in Burma is the primarily initiative of the Task Force.
Solidarity Rally
The Free Myanmar Task Force USA host a weekly Solidarity Rally in Fort Wayne every Sunday following the coup in Myanmar. Approximately 300-400 Burmese (Myanmar) and friends of Myanmar join in each week. The primary purpose of the rally is to express that we condemn the Military coup in Myanmar and demand to reinstate the democratically elected government. We also express our support to the on-going “Civil Disobedience Movement” (CDM) and the “Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw” (CRPH) as the legitimate body of elected officials.
Collobrative Rally
Members of the Free Myanmar Task Force USA also join in the protests and rallies in other cities and states, particularly at the Washington DC, New York and Chicago, echoing the support to “Civil Disobedience Movement” (CDM) and the “Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) and demanding the United Nations and United States to take firm action against the Myanmar Generals to reinstate democracy.
Panel Discussions
We also host Panel Discussions via zoom programing highlighting inputs from some of the key players in the movement, activists, political analysts, and ethnic leaders.
Financial Support
Due to ongoing crisis in Myanmar following the military coup, millions of Myanmar nationals throughout the nation are financially impacted. The Task Force collects individuals and support the people of Myanmar, particularly to those who lost income and to those families who lost their love ones during the protest against the military.
